Design samples are projects completed as a front end web designer. They are examples of presentation styles, navigation styles, and other design led projects I have been involved with. Most have been produced without the benefit of pre-planned IA or UXD, but have endeavored to solve those same problems that would have been much easier resolved had that area of design been involved.
Work samples are examples of applied IA. The reports and documentation that form the basis of IA including; concept modeling, personas, competitive analysis - much less visual of course, but nonetheless, essential to underpin and guide the design process. Some samples compare the document to the finalised design.
