Kiosk - Interactive design samples
Arya Systems ~ Interactive Public Access
Back in 2000 I had the opportunity to work for Arya Systems, a kiosk company who were readying themselves for the then expected rise in the interactive kiosk market! Essentially a software company with imagination and enormous future vision and potential. I became their head of creative design, a role they understood to be essential to enable the company to produce products that turned their vision into usable and salable commodities.
The desktop kiosk illustrated here is a working prototype of a concept never before seen in the market. It was functional, usable, and adaptable. Kiosk design at the time were bulky items that were not adaptable to various (often unknown) uses; they were very difficult to market. More importantly, they were not user friendly or interesting or engaging - indeed they were mostly forbidding machines. My goal was to give Arya a competitive advantage and become a leading player within the kiosk industry through product and interactive design.
This kiosk is window display accessed from outside a shop. A graphic display and monitor are attached to the inside of the glass; here for exmple the football imageas are active buttons controlling the interactive content diplayed on the screen. This window is a project for Ladbrokes.
